Sieve out the Truth

have you ever come across a church which produced a DVD claiming to teach you the joy of the Lord but all you see is anecdotes after anecdotes of the preacher cracking one lame joke after another?
have you ever heard of churches with the most convincing sermons, but in actual fact are "storehouses of people for hell"?
have you ever seen a preacher who claims to be preaching theology when actually he is preaching "ME-ology"? He just wants to:
1. tell you that he can do what most can't
2. let you know how much people love him
3. express how passionate he is for people
4. share with you a picture of his car
5. share with you a picture of his house
Matthew 23: 5 NLT
"Everything they do is for show. On their arms they wear extra wide prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside and they wear robes with extra long tassels."
Luke 13: 27 NLT
"And he will reply, 'I tell you, I don't know you or where you come from. Get away from me, all you who do evil.'
I just feel this sense of urgency for all of us to get our walk right with God, otherwise we are going to be dulled in our senses to discern the prophets/preachers that come by us.
There will arise eloquent/charismatic/brilliant speakers that are going to preach sermons that sound so "right", sermons that sound "faultless" but they lead pretentious lives.
Will you be able to discern then?
Adolf Hitler was such a gifted speaker that history recorded, when he spoke, some women fell in a trance. Adolf's speech was moving, forceful, powerful, yet illogical, but thousands were swayed by him.
Will you be able to discern if you were present, there and then?
By then, would it have be too late?
Come on, come on, rise up, awaken your senses. Plug in to the Lord.
Let's raise a standard that the gates of falsehood cannot prevail against.
oh lord, let me never be carried away... even if the voices of the crowds or the influential are loud, i pray let YOUR WORD speak louder than these.
