i've been workin with my boss on the PR for Kym to launch her as the new spokesperson of marie france bodyline
she was talking about how she loved eating so much she finishes up all her food, eat dessert after every meal, and even though she exercised thro jogging and running she could never get rid of her tummy... how her metabolism has slowed down so much so that when she eats a full 3 meals a day she puts on weight... it kinda freaked me out.. cos in that sense i'm like that too.. chocs after every meal.. late night eating cos i think i work hard and i want to pamper myself.. love running.. Kym is like 1000X more sanguine than me she's always chirpy, and everything that she says carries humour in it, when she speaks, there's an expectation in the atmosphere.. everybody wants to listen and they truly enjoy her being around.
and so from this meeting with her,
it was kinda a wake up call.
clarice, if u dun change ur eating habits... ur metabolism will surely catch up with you

cos also on my mind lately is the issue of DIABETES
my mom told me she had it when she was pregnant with me
all my aunts and uncles have it
my grandparents too
and plus the way i was eating
chocs everyday.. SIGH!!!!!!
now i replace chocs with milo/horlicks.. something to keep my sweet tooth satisfied

christy chungif you keep up with the HK scene or have seen her ads you would know her
she's part chinese, vietnam and something else?
publicity of her is always on the sex kitten image, she has numerous near nude shots
and i stereotyped her as shallow, sleazy, just a sex bomb, "blonde" etc etc
until i met her face to face with my boss for an interview
my impression changed.
christy came in slacks, sweater, specs w/o make up
she still looked pretty she doesn't look her age at all
she is a disciplined woman
she doesn't eat after 7pm.. strictly no carbs
(jus for this post pregnancy period she says, she jus had a second baby)
exercises on the elliptical nearly everyday
When asked about her passion in life:
she talked about spending time with her two beautiful daughters
(this is a woman who fiercely loves her children)
she also talked bout how she loved meditating and
how it helps keep her in balance
(i wonder what she meditates on?)
she shared bout the importance keeping a thankful heart in life
and how once she woke up in tears during christmas
grateful for the blessings that she had
(and who does she THANK ? she didnt say)
christy also shared about how she wanted to empower women
through her music
to be confident in themselves and
not in their looks
when asked about her mantra in life
she said:
"live every moment as if it were your last""If i were to drink a cup of tea, i enjoy it to the fullest
If i were to live in a moment, i use it to the fullest"
and I totally agree with that
she also spoke on how she went on a China trip on humanitarian work
and she saw a village grappling with draught and lack of water
the look on the children's face and their pain
she was so gripped by it that when she came back
she dare not swim in the swimming pool
[side note: if these celebs understand the importance of seizing every moment and putting it to good use, using their privilege to bless the poor and needy, what more us as christians?]
these media people are highly influential... everybody wants to know EVERYthing bout them
their love life... what they do in their free time... how they destress...
what's their mantra in life... what's their eating habits...
what's in a day for them.... who do they hang out with...
what do they like to wear... like to eat.. like to go
what made them successful...
and so i'm reminded again that
to everybody, whether ur a media celeb or not
your private life ultimately manifests into your public lifeit is only when you are faithful in ur private life
then God will use you PUBLICLY

I pray for more labourers with conviction and character
to be launched into these fields of influence...
people who are not tempted by the world's offer
(what's in there anyways? 3Gs ?)
but are focused on the race
and exemplify the word
LOVE
the world is looking for a leader
the world needs role models
beacons as examples
people who are unafraid and willing
to go into the dirty
to take suffering
and translate it to His glory
will we rise up to the occasion?
there are many idols and role models out there
setting the values
setting the culture/ the atmosphere/ defining what is NORM
let us steadily infuse into this culture
restoration
redemption
re-CREATION
No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him"
(1 Corinthians 2:9-10).
and the gospel is all because:
Death is NOT the end of life.~~~~~~~~~~~
